How to Set Hours on Your Google Business Profile
September 2, 2024

Reach More Customers by Keeping Your Hours Current

Actively managing your Google Business Profile (GBP) keeps your business listing fresh and engaging for visitors. One crucial aspect of managing your listing is ensuring your GBP accurately reflects your business's actual work hours is crucial.

Your customers want to know that you are available when they need you. When people see that your listed hours match your real operating times, they’re more likely to rely on your business and plan their outreach accordingly. Mismatched hours can lead to frustration and lost opportunities, as potential customers may contract you when you’re not available to pick up the phone. In other words, if you will not answer a call at 11:59 PM or 3:30 AM, your listing should not indicate you are open 24 hours a day.

Accurate hours also enhance your business’s visibility in local search results. Google’s algorithms favor businesses that provide up-to-date and precise information, so keeping your hours current can improve your ranking and increase the likelihood of being found by potential customers.

Maintaining a GBP that actually reflects your business isn’t just a matter of good practice—it’s essential for providing excellent customer service and optimizing your online presence.
